Get to Know the Beader
“All you need is Love…
and some really nice beads.”

I am an Anishinaabe Native American from the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians. Within my tribe I am from the Bear Clan which was the inspiration to my shop name. I recently had my naming ceremony with my sister, and my Native name is Mshko Maase Kwe, which translate to ‘Strong Walking Woman.’ Right now my main focus is beaded earrings, but I plan on learning more and adding more to the shop in the future.
I am married and have been with my husband for 14 years (married for eight of those years). We have three children, two boys and a girl and their ages range from 5-11. Thats them in the photo above (we really need updated photos). I am lucky to be able to stay home with them and watch them grow!
I love sharing information, teaching and native issues using my beadwork to anyone my post may reach. I hope you enjoy my pieces and they bring you as much joy as they did while creating each piece! Chi-Mii Gwech for your support! Baamaapii xoxo Emili
